At HillCity Church we believe that the prayer of faith is what moves the “BIG HAND” that moves the world. The lifeline of our church is fervent, passionate and relentless prayer. We always strive to live and do church in such a way that if God does not show up, we will look worse than fools.

Our Church is laid on the foundation of prayer. We hold regular prayer meetings, and fasting and prayer form an important part of our church calendar.

At the end of each year, we go into a ‘season’ of fasting and prayer to set the tone for the incoming year.

We also love to pray for people. You can send us your prayer request(s). We know God answers prayer. Expect God to step into the situation as you share your prayer request(s) with us. You may also wish to share your Praise report  / Testimony.

Date: Monday 8th January – Sunday 14th January 2024

What is fasting and why fast? Biblical fasting is voluntarily abstaining from food (fully, partially or selectively) for the purpose of focusing on God. The principle is to ‘abstain from’ in other to ‘focus on’.  Fasting enhances intimacy with God as we remove distractions. Therefore, it is important during fasting to spend time in fellowship with God in the study of and meditation on His word and in prayer. We encourage all to join in this spiritual exercise that will strengthen your inner ma and bring about breakthroughs in your life. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that is a matter of when not if you do it. At different times in the year, we have a season of corporate fasting and prayer such as this. Do also continue to engage in personal fasting at other times during the year. This first corporate fasting and prayers for the year provides the opportunity to commit the new year into God’s hands and set the tone for every area of our lives.
