Our Name

“What’s in a name?” can be simply answered with “Everything!”

 

We did not have to ‘brainstorm’ to find out what we would like to call ourselves. The One who gave us the assignment of the Church plant revealed our name to us right at the very beginning – HillCity.

 

He also gave us two key scriptures:

 

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14).

 

for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:10).

 

Two things have been communicated to us by our name and our DNA from the Scriptures above:

 

One, as a people, we are the hope of the world around us.

 

Two, as a people, we are an entity of divine design and execution.

 

Both of these synergistic components of our DNA give us the confidence that we can do ALL THINGS and live the life that Jesus died to give us in FULL.
